Dear God
I feel like talking to You this way this time. Just for fun, because I feel like it =D Thanks for bringing new people into my life, the OCF-ers (!!!!!), Subi-ers, uni peeps, even Bob Barton from 60 Vahland Ave., and very recently, the Christian Union guys. I don't know where this is going, You leading me to meet all these guys, but I don't doubt You, God. Do what You will. Over the course of the past 9 months, You've opened my eyes to new things, put me in weird situations, not to mention sometimes weird to the MAX. But hey, I'm loving this new phase of my life. I'm trying my best to get used to the new first number of my age, the culture here, the food (the veges here are so different, sometimes don't know how to cook =s), taking public transport, having no car, having to depend so much on other people other than my parents, being independent, the Aussie accent (-.-") etc. The best part of it is that I'm learning so much from it, learning more about myself, learning how to step out, speak out and actually learning more about You. Pastor Ronnie and Aunty Marilyn and the Jewish pastor that spoke to our church last week have been...... whoa. But You've been so awesome. I wanna see more of You, wanna hear from You too. I read in Ephesians today on the train, that 'by grace', You gave Paul the authority to preach Your word. I find it cool how it's You who pick us first, how You loved us first. Sometimes we don't see it, sometimes we even forget, but thanks for Your grace and love that You so freely give. Teach us to love You with a whole heart, to want to serve You with no other underlying motive, to live the life You called us to have, and to love others the way You see them. I have a Chemistry pre-prac to get done before tomorrow morning, and before I continue doing it, I ask that You help me do well in my studies here, to glorify You in it, to WAKE UP FOR MY 9AM CLASSES =( Thanks for the great day I've had, thanks for being in it. Oh oh, and I commit the CU Public Meet next Tuesday into Your hands. Only You know how excited I am about it! =DD
In Jesus' mighty name, Amen!

Romans 8:10-11
10But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.

15 minutes
Its so easy to go to church, to go to prayer meet, to go to a spiritual event because you're.. a Christian? So you should be going to these things? And at the back of your head, you're thinking that if you don't attend these things and not take part, God is going to ask you "So did you go to church when you were alive?", "Did you go for prayer meetings and pray for those around you who are in more need than you are?", "Did you do something with the spiritual gifts I gave you?". At least that was what was in my head for the longest time. Until 15 minutes before I left for prayer meet.
I was listening to a lecture online to pass the time while waiting for Sheryl to pick me up when suddenly it dawned on me. Why do I go for these meetings anyway? A few weeks ago, even with a major climate project to hand in the next day, I still went. And another time, I had a 2000 word essay I hadn't started on, I still went. Did it make me feel any holier? More, superior than those who don't know Christ? Shamefully, I say yes. Sigh. At that point, I felt so silly for going to prayer meet. Like it would have been less silly to see a donkey walk into the Lim's place instead of me (we have our prayer meetings at the Lim's house).
So easy to make the whole Christianity thing a routine. Well, no. It shouldn't be. I realised that I cannot be going because I 'should' or I 'have to' but because I should. And I have to, out of genuine necessity to pray for others. Sheryl picked me up, and we made our way over. Usually we'd start with some songs then split into groups and pray. But today, Bernie announced we would start by praying, and then songs. Right there and then, I knew I didn't just think up all these things. Wooh I felt a huge grin spread across my face. Yes! Screw routine! =D (Don't get me wrong, routine is still good.. to some degree).
So yes. You think you have 15 minutes to spare? You never know. God could use that time to knock some sense into you.

Aowa
I was out at Parkson today with my sister and Ninyang. We got off the escalator to the top floor of the new wing. Usually I would turn left to avoid those superrrr annoying promoters at Aowa. Don't know why today I kinda forgot, and turned left, right into their territory. They practically ambushed me, shoving a free wireless doorbell in my face. Stupidly, I took it. HUGE mistake I know.
Eventually, they managed to pull me into their pameran and said it would only take 5 minutes. Being me, finding it difficult to tolak these kinda things, I just went with it. Look see look see, waa ok your induction cooker so cool, ya my hand doesn't burn off when I touch the surface oohh. They sat me down to ask me for feedback, filled in some form, then they brought us over to the couch to promote even more. Apa la them, I sat there for a good 20 minutes.. 5 minutes my foot. Lol. But it was ok though, I had fun talking to them eventhough I had no interest in what they were promoting. Turned out the two promoters were the same age as me and they started getting more friendly and casual. I figured, hey..they're 20, I'm 20, we all know I'm not going home with an induction cooker at the end of the day, so time to work some magic! Lolll. They were ok... but, nahhhh. Hahah!
Bla bla bla, promote promote promote, then they gave me this voucher thing. You know like fortune cookies, you have to bite open to get your fortune. So yeah, I tore it open and I looked at it blankly and showed it to them. Friggin' hilarious, they took it from me and stared at it, BOTH saying "Yarabi... biar betol tok?" Hahahahahahhhhh. To cut the story short, apparently I won some promotion thing and there's supposed to be only two winners in Miri I think?. A free induction cooker and a pressure cooker costing almost RM4000. But then these things always have a catch. I get those things free if I buy something else from the promotion items with a RM100 discount...and everything on that item list cost over RM2000. I gave them the =.=" look, you see me student you think I wanna buy meh... lol. Gave my dad a call to see if he wanted it, he said to just let it go. So yeah.... all I got out of that experience was their age, what school they went to, found out that one of them knows a cousin of mine (Josh, the guy knows you) and whole dump load of information about induction cookers.
*shrugs* nyeh...

Wednesday the 3rd
I almost typed weirdnessday... umm
Ok! I have been awake for 30 hours straight. It's amazing I'm still this composed. Had Chem paper today. Praise the Lord man. I know I might not have done as well as everyone else but I was expecting the worst from myself today, and hey, it didn't turn out so bad. I was super groggy in the morning, well duh, I couldn't sleep at all. After tossing and turning the whole night, I didn't even get one minute of sleep. Meh. And today was supposedly going to be Doom's day (hey have you ever heard Doom's Day Clock by the Smashing Pumpkins? yeah.. I don't like it. Haha) Bah. Yala, Chem ba. I got an E for my mocks and I've never clicked with Chem, can't remember why I liked it back in St.Co. Because of ahbeh la maybe. She fun like machine gun.

So I went to GK initially to buy food; like I said, I was hungry the whole day. food food food. But I picked up Kleenex toilet paper first. Um. SO I found Pods, they're awesome those mini-snickers im scoffing them down now, and VEcarrot&fruit juice my fav (!). I went over to pay, I remember that cashier only without the huge belly. Goes to show how long ago it was since I last stepped into GK. Loooo.
Drove home, listened to whatsitcalledagain by whatsthatbandagain, syok2 dengar lagu you know. Then jengjeng I saw the dead dog I nearly ran over last night. Still there poor thing.
Got home, I saw a pretty white Caldina BLOCKING my driveway. cis. But kan I pro, so I professionaly parked my car with the teeny space that I had without scratching the Caldina like I did to the stop sign at the end of the road last november because I was so smart to reverse ALL the way without looking into the mirror. Oh, I have this friend. He says my driving's so awesome that it makes him nauseous. shrug. i miss you too.
I'm getting old and slightly senile. I forgot to lock the front door three times during the course of these past few weeks. and I was the last one out of the house. I walked out of my car today and forgot to take the car keys out of the ignition..twice. I didn't answer the easiest question, numero uno. What Brownstead-Lowry theory thing. I had the worst roti tissue ever last night, thus the craving for good food today. I want a new phone.
The parents are coming home tomorrow. Ironing isn't finished. Vacumming not done. BioV on Friday. Hugh Jackman is super hot in Australia.
These Pods are great. Yum!
Yup. Car swerved on the way to school, my back hurt, I was hungry the whole day I don't know why, then had the paper, drove halfway back to Lutong (you know how far?!), then I realised I forgot my phone in school, drove back, jengjengjeng DrLee was still in the class looking at our answers. Sengaja didn't want to ask her about mine. Though I think she was happy with me this time. She saw during the exam, and said 'good'.
Whoa...

Went to watch it today with Jess after studying in Pustaka. It was ok I guess. I agree with Kenaidy, it's good but fighting scenes kurang la =p Where's the big fighting scene where people actually die?? Meh. But don't get me wrong. It was ok. I got confused at who was who at the beginning. Marcus and John Connor look the same to me lol.But! but but but.. I CAN'T WAIT to see...
THISSSSS!
Oh come on. Tell me Zachary Quinto looks adorable in that ridiculous hair. lol lol lol. And Chris Pine in Star Trek. Hmm.. Was never a fan of Star Trek but kinda wanted to watch this one after I heard who was acting =p

The Power of Your Name
It's already cool that Lincoln Brewster featured Darlene Zschech in "The Power of Your Name" on his latest album "Today is the Day", but when I listened to it properly.... Yeah yeah, I know. Only after a week since I borrowed it, I listen to it. Heh.
Anyhoo, goes something like this.
Anyhoo, goes something like this.
~~
Surely children weren't made for the streets,
And father's were not made to leave,
Surely this isn't how it should be,
Let Your kingdom come.
Surely nations were not made for war,
Or the broken meant to be ignored,
Surely this just can't be what You saw,
Let Your kingdom come,
Here in my heart.
(Cho)
I will live,
To carry Your compassion,
To love a world that's broken,
To be Your hands and feet,
I will give,
With the life that I've been given,
And go beyond religion,
To see the world be changed,
By the power of Your name.
Surely life wasn't made to regret,
And the lost were not made to forget,
Surely faith without action is dead,
Let Your kingdom come,
Lord break this heart.
(Bridge)
Your name,
Is a shelter for the hurting,
Jesus Your name,
Is a refuge for the weak,
Only Your name,
Can redeem the undeserving,
Jesus Your name,
Holds everything I need.
~~

Argh. What else can I say. The chorus blew my mind away. To go beyond religion.
NgaaaaahhhhHHH
I need to be a part of this generation, along with everything it comes with.

My cousin Joy's wedding was the morning after we got back. And yeah, as usual, I kena contract play wedding march again. Always a pleasure though =)

We had a Silek clan reunion too! Was so cool. Too bad one uncle from Johor couldn't make it so no full head count =p

And then there was the photoshoot!!! Man, was fun. The first for all of us so please excuse the skills. Models weren't very prepared either lol. Will be the next time around!!

Apart from that, there was Randy's birthday, hung out with Sam, Jan, Kiat, Greg and Jeremy, eating out every single day.. and yeah, one more photoshoot with Josh before he leaves next week.
So.. Merry belated Christmas and a Happy belated New Year to all =)

I've been up to quite a lot this week. My parents were out of town this weekend and I HAD THE CAR TO MYSELF!!!! Waahoo!
Friday night went out with my cousin Josh. Planned to hang at Coffee Bean but there wasn't any parking at Parkson, so we decided to scout around Miri for cocktails instead. Went to try out Siamese Secrets. A big nono. So we moved on to Mr Ho's Fine Foods. Sat at the bar area and I ordered a Midori Sour. Josh had a Seduction. Don't know why he didn't like it. Probably because of the Baileys. Nice ba... why he say taste like medicine. Heheh. But mine was nicer! =p

He looks weird there. Haha. I didn't know there was alcohol in there and I had to drive back. I know I sound like so noob, cmon me new driver ok. Ehehe.. Yeah anyway, I was scared to drive back considering my totally lame history of getting drunk on half a tin of Shandy. Gosh.. I'm so lame. But anyhoo.. we got home safe and sound ptl hahah=)))
Then there was EYM the following night where I had to pick Joy up. So after the usual traditional supper after EYM, we went over to Coffee Bean to meet up with Brad, Luffy and Jin Kiat.

THEN, was back to college on Monday. Went to the toilet. And...

These gross things almost got me locked in the cubicle. Like seriously, I start to wonder how many times the cleaner cleans the toilet PROPERLY. I mean, the last time I saw her 'cleaning', she just sprayed the cubicles with a hose. Like that's going to work. Please la. That second one has been there for WEEKS and I know, stop yapping and do something about it if you don't like it right? But yeah, I don't like roaches so I didn't get rid of it.
Yup.

But I thought he's older?
Lya and I were sitting on the sofa about 11pm after doing her reading homework and we were talking about the different stages of education there were. Like you know, after tadika, there's primary school then high school, college then university. I explained to her that I was in college and how many more years it would take for her to be in college.
She started with the manjak-ness, squeeky voice and all..
Lya: You'll be going to university next year *sad face boohoohoo*
Me: Yup. But nevermind. You got Kenaidy ba
Lya: Kenaidy? But I thought he's older than you? He go to university la...
I was like.......
!!!!!!!WHAT!!!!!!!GOBSMACKED!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes she's five but she's been living with me all this time and didn't know I was the eldest among us. Cmon!!
So, yeah I was going "WHAT???" in my head for a while, then I started thinking.
Well, at this age I'm quite impressed she's that rational. I mean..

That last one is a long story but yeah, I guess only if you knew the story you would find it funny. Hehehe
This Week
YAY I'M 18!!!!
I feel so legal =)))))
SO! my family took me out for dinner at Marriott on the eve of my birthday because my mum was to go to Kuching the following day. It was funny, my mum was babbling all the way there about the buffet being RM30 plus and all. By the time we got there, just when ordering, the lady told us it was actually RM75 *tweennng*
I had my first taste of Shirley Temple
It looks disgusting here but these babies were AWESOME
You know in the first High School Musical movie where this baker-basketball player sang about baking creme brulee and stuff? Yeah, I never knew what it was til that night. Hah. It's the yellowish looking thing.
And Jess enjoyed her emo shots *cough cough shoes cough*
After dinner, we went up to hang out at the lobby...
...where I got my sister pissed at me
The boy in the back *sigh*
And we called it a night =)
~~~
1st Sepetember, the retard family came over (missing Bubek and Alien) supposedly to pen some stuff down. Who knew they came to surprise me with..
...the cutest cake ever =)
and prezies! (which I adore by the way. Thanks gurls!)
Had fun writting in the sand too! >=) I would've posted a picture but I believe in confidentiality and keeping the peace... for now... Ahaha.
So conclusion, it's been a fun week for me
=)
Oh! Oh! I got my P licence!
And! And! I know the menu for the EYM cookout on 13th Sept!
